Fouad Khalil
Principal & Founder
Fouad is the principal and founder of Modly, a consultancy working with manufacturers, consumers, and designers of building products to launch and develop Industrialized Construction Programs.
Prior to his work at Modly, Fouad was creative director at White Arkitekter, the largest architecture firm in the Nordics and served as lead designer on several significant projects in Sweden, including Studenthus Valla, a net-zero student center using mass timber facade, floor and structural elements. The innovative design utilized a number of passive and active sustainability strategies to achieve its best in class energy rating. Highlights include a parametrically derived modular CLT facade that modulates thermal performance and daylight. The project received Swedens Building of the Year award in 2020.
Modly was a winner of the 2023 Mass Timber Competition for its work on the Northwest Arkansas Industrialized Construction (NWAIC) program with Blue Crane developments. NWAIC investigates applications for IC products such as CLT floor panels, modular bathrooms and kitchens to provide sustainable, affordable housing in the Northwest Arkansas Region. A pilot project for the program is currently under construction.
