Alexis is a licensed structural engineer, turned embodied carbon director at KL&A Engineers and Builders, a leader in mass timber with over 30 constructed mass timber buildings, totaling more than 1,000,000 square feet, plus over 25 projects in design. With a decade of experience, Alexis leads a dedicated team in developing and implementing innovative strategies to quantify and reduce embodied carbon in design and (de)construction practices and manages KL&A’s SE2050 commitment program. Alexis is an active member of several sustainability committees and is nationally recognized for her embodied carbon advocacy, mass timber life cycle assessment studies, and salvaged structural steel reuse. She was named ACEC Colorado’s 2024 Young Professional of the Year for her efforts to advance sustainable practices in the industry.
