Alexis is a Structural Engineer at KL&A Engineers and Builders, where she also co-Founded and Directs thier Team Carbon Unit.
Alexis is developing and leading a team of in-house expertise focused on embodied carbon reduction strategies, quantification (using Life Cycle Assessment and Environmental Product Declarations), and implementation into current design and (de)construction practice. Team Carbon is a signatory to the SE2050 Challenge and is nationally recognized in the United States for comparative Life Cycle Assessments, steel salvage and reuse, and embodied carbon advocacy.
KL&A is an industry leader in mass timber with over 30 constructed mass timber buildings, totaling more than 1 Million square feet, plus over 25 projects in design.
Alexis is an active member of several sustainability committees and is nationally recognized for her embodied carbon advocacy, mass timber life cycle assessment studies, and salvaged structural steel reuse. She was named ACEC Colorado’s 2024 Young Professional of the Year for her efforts to advance sustainable practices in the industry.
